okay I failed remedial flower pressing in camp

I want to preserve part of of an evergreen branch.. can it be done the same way a flower is pressed?

It has to be flat for a book, so I don't think glycerine method preservation is the way to go

HELP! I still have a few months to figure it out, but now it's really bugging me...!! Anyone ever tried this?
