Glues and Craft foam
Feb. 27th, 2003 01:51 amI'm not too experienced with glue and bonds, simply because I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivities and avoid such things.
I've made various barrettes using craft foam and googly eyes, ribbon, etc. I can use hot glue to hold the foam to the metal barrette, but I have shaky hands and don't work quickly nor finely enough to use hot glue with googley eyes. Tacky glue just doesn't hold very long. Superglue doesn't work that well on plastics, and it makes me kinda sick to use.
I do have some silicone sealer. The acetic acid it outgasses doesn't bother me. I know that silicone sealer doesn't work well on ribbon and such, but would it work on the craft foam and the googley eyes? I could just try, but I don't really want to waste any googley eyes because I'm snowed in and can't buy more. ;)
The only glues I have in the house are epoxies for stone/marble, silicone sealer, and Tacky Glue. If the silicone sealer won't work, I'll have to wait til the road gets plowed so I can get into town--it could be a couple days.
Thanks!
