KnitPro help needed!
Mar. 3rd, 2007 11:31 pm[Sorry for posting again tonight guys, but this has really been bugging me.]
Hi guys,
I've created a chart using KnitPro and apart from the random grey squares it creates for some reason (even when you use a black and white image), it was looking good...until I tried to work out how big the finished piece would be.
The chart is 96 stitches wide by 77 stitches high, and I'll be using some DK yarn on 4mm needles. According to the yarn, my gauge on 4mm needles will be 5.5 st across and 7 high per inch.
Sounds fine, but when I did some calculations it seems that this will give me a piece of knitting 17" wide by 11" high. Yet the chart image is higher than it is wide! (It's a portrait of a person).
How did this happen? Have I done something wrong?
I'm a bit crap with maths so any help is greatly appreciated.
