art projects
Mar. 9th, 2007 12:06 pmI made this post a week ago about a transformation project. I ended up doing something completely different but I am so happy with the outcome

Disco Ball made from broken CD pieces, and modern/minimalist light made from stacked CDs

I am really happy with how this turned out, I think it looks better than a real disco ball!! and it reflects light in rainbows!

I found a LED glow stick with on/off/flashing mode options, and it was the perfect fit for the inside circle of CDs, it looks really cool in the dark, or in front of a window during the day
this is an older project I finished. I had to create a 3D diorama/scene and photogrpah it in a way that it looks real and life size, taking into consideration lighting and perspective. I decided to do a live concert shot, and relied on the fact that if the photo comes back kind of blurry, well thats how concert photography is! hahah, I think I pulled it off well. I constructed everything except for the figure & mic stand (from my work), and lights (bought from the dollara store)... oh and the photo was blown up to 16x20, so detail is magnified!!! eee

this one you can see the full set up, and the clip on lights I used

this is what it looks like, kind of silly eh? (I had a hard time coming up with how to hold up the 'heads', which are just egg shaped styrofoam painted with fake hair from the dollarstore glued on, they don't even have faces cause I figure you'll only see the back of the heads)
Lee's Palace is a small venue in Toronto, when doing a google search I came up with this image, pretty sweet!
