Mar. 15th, 2007 07:20 pmSo My Boy is playing Jack in Sondheim's Into The Woods, and we open a week from today. I was planning on making something to give to him on opening night, but I can't for the life of me decide what. I'm a writer, so I'm always giving him things that I've written, and I just gave him a painting on his birthday. I wanted it to be something that would have a practical purpose, aside from the sentimental one. But here's the issue; I was hoping to incorporate the beanstalk. I've been tossing around the idea of having two little arrows next to the bean stalk - one that points upward, labeled "you" and another pointing downward, labeled "me". I've also just gotten into working with wire, so I've also been toying with the idea of having wire vines, but I'm not sure how confident I am in my wire skills. And I've thought about a little keepsake box, but I really don't know if I'd be able to give that to him backstage (Much less do I know what I'd fill it with....)
I would so appreciate any ideas!
Thank you, lovelies!
