Please wait while I giggle like the 12-year-old I am sometimes. [Heh. Boning.]
How exactly would one go about putting boning into a gown? My mother unearthed her wedding dress from the depths of storage over the weekend and has offered it to me for my own wedding. The dress was handmade by my grandmother and absolutely stunning [save the 1980s poof to the sleeves], and I want to make it strapless if possible. However, to do so and keep it upright, I know I'm going to have to get some boning or something similar worked into the dress. Is it possible to place boning into a garment after the fact? I just want to make sure I don't spend my wedding day hitching my dress back up over my boobs. Any information would be exceedingly helpful.
