Hey there Craft Grrls!
This evening I finished up a little cross stitch I bought at the dollar store. I have done one other cross stitch on regular muslin fabric, but this was my first go on real aida cloth. Boy, what a difference! It's sooo much easier to have all those little holes laid out for you than to try to make even rows and columns and whatnot on a plain cloth. So here he is...

It is 3 x 2.5 inches, not including hanger. I mean, for $1, I couldn't resist. I have better projects planned though! :)
I also made a needle book to keep my needles all in one place. I made it out of felt and cardboard. I wanted the cover to be sturdy enough so that I could throw this in my purse or backpack and the needles wouldn't stick through it. And I thought, Hey, how about that cereal box I just emptied. Yup, cut it up, sewed felt around it, and voila! Needle book! It is 3.5 x 4.75 inches. Outside...

And inside I have some little scissors, embroidery, and sewing needles. (I have more sewing needles, they just haven't gotten here yet.)

And on the next page we have a yarn needle, and a big scary needle I stole from my mom's stash.

So that's what I've been up to! Happy crafting to all. Now back to that paper I was supposed to be writing...
