Or at least maybe a different way to make heal flaps/ turn heals? Probably not, but can any of you knitters tell me if I really did it right, or if I just made something up, of if I've done something horribly wrong and they'll implode upon wearing?
Here's what I did for the heal flap:
On DPNs, put half of my sts (24) on one needle (like my instructions said)
then, sl 1 st at the begining of every row, k and p until I had about 8 st on my needle.
Then, inc1 at the beginning of every row until you have 24 sts again. Apply stitch holders, and use the kitchener stitch to sew the sides of your mysterious shape together. Getting a turned heal.

My instructions(Knitting Rules! by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee) told me to do the first part, (the whole "half stitches on one needle, sl 1 at the beginning of each row" thing) but they said it would be a square shape. Unless I don't understand slipping stitches at all, I don't see how it could have been a square. Or maybe that term is used loosely?
Ugh. It was confusing, and the way I came up with was super easy and fun, and seemed quite obvious, but my stitch and bitch isn't until wednesday and I need to know, did I do something wrong/ invent something/ do it right but are dumb and cannot read knitting language?
The heal in question. It LOOKS just like the heal on my other hand knit socks that were knit by not me, which leads me to believe that I did something right.

Since they're for my boyfriend, and he likes evil looking things, I worked an upside down pentagram into the front of the foot:

This was also very hard and so this will probably be the only sock with a design on it.
All that aside, knitting socks is the greatest thing ever, I believe.
