My very first quilt is finished (almost) and home. I am so happy with it. I have been laying on it for about half and hour looking at all of the stitch patterns on it. Every section has a different pattern. There are apple blossoms, lotus blossoms, ginkgo leaves, and so many other things. She used gold thread so it really stand out. I tried to take some pictures but it's hard to get the color right. The large blue looking blocks are really a very pretty purple in person.

Here are some attempts to show the different stitch patterns. I'm not so good with close up shots.

I will do the quilting myself on my next quilt. I just thought the fabric in this one was so beautiful that I wanted the intricate professional stitching. I still have to hand stitch the back of the binding and make a runner for the back so I can mount and hang it. I'll do all of that after finals.
