craftgrrl | i told you i'd be back!

since it's summer, and i only work a few days a week, i get to spend the rest of my time procrastinating on my online class, and making ridiculous crafts!

today's adventure:

i bought a pack of shrinky dinks at michael's because i was so impressed by all of the shrinky goodness i've seen here. i've been ordered to stay home today to wait for the new phones to arrive (they're here!), and so i decided to play with the shrinky dinks.

first, i made an army man:

i didn't think cutting them would be so tough! it felt like i was about to snap him in half. i colored him with colored pencils. he's so-so.

next, i made 2 hearts, and a key:

the black ones are colored with permanent marker, and the red is colored pencil. i definitely prefer the markers. the color pencil comes off A LOT.

aaand last, to use up some scraps, i made an exclamation point and a question mark:

those are outlined in silver sharpie, and colored in with colored pencil. and i can honestly say, i have no idea what that stain on my counter is. ew.

overall, i guess i'm pleased with these, seeing as it's the first time i've ever used shrinky dinks. they're not great, but i'm sure i'll get better. at least, i hope i will. haha.
