So, I purchased a set of Crystalites crochet hooks. They are plastic with pretty sparkly colors, and I've heard they're nice because they don't keep cold like metal crochet hooks do. I bought them two days ago, I'm happily working away on my blanket, and one of them just SNAPS in 1/2!!! I was exerting no unusual pressure on it, it literally snapped apart in my hand. Needless to say I'm pretty upset, as I paid $8.50 for a pack of 5 various sizes. (And the one that broke is 5.5, the one I most use)
Now, the thing is, I bought these from a very small little independent store.. And the ladies there weren't particularly nice to me. I'm worried if I bring them back they'll just say I shouldn't have bought plastic hooks.. So, what do you all think? Should I try it, or just contact the manufacturer instead? Thanks!
