Jun. 13th, 2007 02:36 pmI'm a tribal bellydancer. We wear a lot of shells, feathers, beads, coins, etc. I have a ton of shells from a few years ago when I went to Mexico. I have a variety of different styles and sizes. I made a pair of hair clips for another girl in my troupe using a glue gun and some barrettes. I want to make a headband of shells for myself. Any suggestions on a base or what I should use attach the shells to the base and to each other? Some of them I want to stand up straight, I think, like a crown. I'm thinking, since the shells will be pretty heavy when they're all together, that I'll put a bunch of hair clips on the base so I won't have to worry about it falling off my head.
Here's what I'm thinking, laid out as best I can:

those spiraly, pointy shells would stand up straight and the rest would lay flat to my head.
