Transformers hoodie
Jun. 23rd, 2007 01:52 amI made my first ever from-scratch hoodie yesterday! I'm really happy that it turned out well since I just free-handed the pattern.

I used a charcoal knit fabric for the main part and this Transformers-like war robot printed children's pajama knit for the accents and applique.

Side view.

Front view...that's an interesting look.

Back view. I secured the applique with fusible webbing and then stitched it on all sides.

With hood up. I love the hood.
Altogether I'm very happy with it. I wanted a hoodie made of a lighter weight material but that hung loose rather than being so form-fitting.
I used two yards of charcoal knit (I didn't use it all), 2/3 yard of Transformers knit, 22" black zipper, thread and fuse web for applique. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
