Tape Wallet and repainted wall art.
Jun. 26th, 2007 03:02 pmI want to share two of my recent crafts.
I made my husband a duct tape wallet a few months ago and he likes it a lot but asked me to make him one out of packing tape.
I lost the tutorial I'd printed out and didn't like the ones I found links to in the FAQ, so I went on memory alone.
Sorry for the lousy photo quality... my camera is missing and the one I borrowed is not good quality at all.

INSIDE. 3 card slots. Behind the cards is another slot that small change can slip into. Opposite side: slot for a single photo (of me, of course).

OUTSIDE. slot for ID. Opposite side: slot for reciepts *currently invisible since it's unused.

Inside: the moolah.
It's so thin and flexible that he said he can't even feel it when he wears it, which is a good thing, I suppose.
I'll probably make a few more so I can perfect it and take my time to remove air pockets, etc... this one was just a trial. I'm still pretty pleased with it.
My other project is just a repainted mermaid figurine I found at a rummage sale for a quarter. When I found them, they were the pink (on the left)... I wanted to keep one original and repaint the other (right side).

I really hate that I didn't get better photos (even though, in the middle of posting this, I decided to try again and got these) of this because I love the new paint. I used acrylics and glossy spray varnish to finish it off.
