a little background info: my friend's birthday is saturday, and is going to come over to celebrate. i've known what i wanted to make her for like two weeks now, but have totally put it off 'til now. ugh.
anyway. i have two versions of the shirt i want to do for her, and i don't know which one is better. so, if you could...

basic concepts of what i was thinking. ignore my bad ms paint skillz. i'm gonna clean it up before i actually do it.
i'm also debating what would be the easiest and fastest way to transfer this. my experience with iron-on transfers has not been fantastic. i've never done screen printing before, though i have wanted to try it out. but i'm afraid it won't be ready-to-wear by saturday. if i cleaned it up real good, maybe i could stencil it? i'm not exactly an artist, so i'm not sure i trust myself to just draw/paint it on.
i'd really appreciate suggestions. thanks in advance!
