New jewelry! :D
Jun. 28th, 2007 01:29 pmNo such thing as idle hands around here the last few days...
"Everything Mary" beads are awesome... And I'm way into chunky-huge beads lately... And so here's my new necklace and earrings!:

I sorta wish I hadn't put the green ones on the side of the necklace quite so far up from the big round green ones, because they kinda rest at the sides of my neck, but eh... I don't feel like taking it apart, either, so they're going to stay that way. ^_^
Someone on PostcardX sent me this *beautiful* handmade pendant made with tiny Chinese art and polymer clay. I had it just sitting around for a while, then finally got an idea on how to string it...

Here's one I made for my mom. She loves those cloissone beads (I think thats what they're called) ... She absolutely loved this:

And finally... My friend Justin gave me some bone beads... I'm not sure if he made them, or where he got them from, or what, but here's a bracelet I made with one of them, some wooden beads, tiny shells, and pewter accents:

I call it "Dance like Hok" and kudos to you if you know why... ;)
Making it also gave me a huge amount of respect for whoever makes those tacky tourist shell necklaces, which is where the shells came from (I took one apart) - Those shells are HARD to string!!! Even with stiff beading wire! So I don't know how people can string them with fishing line and make necklaces and windchimes and hanging plant holders and all that touristy crap out of them... o_O
So yay! New stuff! ^_^
