I usually make jewellery, or paper-based crafts, but I have a nice Toyota sewing machine gathering dust under my desk which was an impulse-buy last year, and I really should put her to good use.

I figured I'd start with a skirt, bearing in mind I've never really sewn anything before, does anyone have any suggestions for a website with a good, in-depth tutorial to follow? I have some lovely fabric I'd like to make a pretty, around knee-length skirt out of.

NB:
* I like quite full skirts
* The fabric's quite light, so I think it'll probably require lining
* I'll probably have some left, so if there are any tutorials out there for, say, trimming a top in the same fabric, or making a matching bag, of something, I'm open to suggestions!

Thanks in advance!
