Harry Potter magnets
Jul. 2nd, 2007 02:33 pmThis is part of a project in progress (I plan on posting when I have all the items completed as well). I'm creating Harry Potter Deathly Hallows care packages for a couple of friends that I'm unable to be with to celebrate the book release with.
I've been to a million different webpages and have seen a lot of clever ideas, and this is one that I combined ideas to come up with- 'magnetic poetry' style spells.

Easy enough, but I thought I'd provide directions anyway.
First I downloaded a few Potterish fonts (I *think* I got them all from Mugglenet or The Leaky Cauldron), such as Lumos, Harry P, Parry Hotter, and also used a few I had already, Blackadder, A Charming Font, and Chiller.
Then I copied and pasted most of the spells found on the HP-Lexicon site.
I put the list into 3 columns, adjusted each spell font-wise, and printed the page out.

Then I pseudo-laminated one side with packing tape:

-this really added to the overall look of the magnets I believe. (And, yes, I know I have the 'I solemnly swear' spell wrong, it was corrected later!)
Then I added magnetic tape:

And cut them out:

For being so incredibly simple, I love the way they turned out!
