Help with a cushion

Hello.
My name is Anais and for my lil 'bro's b-day I promised to get him

Now the goomba isn't that much of a problem... I think, but the hats are a whole different matter. I've never done cushinos before so I don't even know where to start. Any help would be really appreciated ^^ specially when it comes to making the patterns for this.

Eh now that I think about it, suggestions for making the goomba would be nice too, since I'm pretty new to the sewing world XD
