Help with crocheting a heart...
Jul. 26th, 2007 09:51 pmHello!
It’s my boyfriend’s birthday this coming week and due to a serious lack of funds I want (need) to make a substantial part of his present. I met him at uni, and because I’m home for the summer I don’t get to see him as much as I’d like to, and because he’s a cuddle monster he needs something to hug while I’m not there. As an attempt to combat this I made him a little teddy bear when I first learnt to crochet, but apparently he isn’t cuddly enough and has to sit next to One-Eye Pete (although it sounds like a euphemism, he is merely a childhood toy that had an accident) on the bookshelf. SO for his birthday I’m making him a bigger teddy, and I want to make it special – the body is being crocheted out of left over yarn from a scarf I made (and wear A LOT), it’s going to have a necklace that is a copy of a friendship bracelet thing I wear, and I’m going to make the teddy a little dress made out of his football colours (actually the away strip because green and purple is better than green and white).
I also want to crochet a heart, and this is where you good people come in. How on earth do I crochet a heart? I’ve seen them, but I can’t figure out how to do it myself – I only learnt to crochet about three months ago, and I haven’t quite figured everything out...
Any help would be very much appreciated! Also, if anyone has any suggestions for anything else I could attach to the Frankenstein-esq teddy, do tell! Also, wee things that are easy to make to go along with his present?
Much love :)
