"One man's garbage is another man's treasure". Can we agree on this?

At my parents' house, near the trash dumpster, were 5 or 6 beautiful wooden boxes like the ones champagne and wine bottles come in. Well, not "like" the ones, as these were boxes were champagne and wine bottles came in.

Most of them had either locks or things that made them almost look like treasure chests, and of course I had to have them, but there was one that didn't have a lid.
I turned it on its side, and realized it could very well do as a mini-shelf.

Here's how it looked before (although I didn't really take a picture of it before, it's just the other side, that will be facing down):

Since I couldn't sand it, I had to paint over the letters. Then, I removed a few 'extra' parts in the front...
And it turned out like this:

After my Magic: the Gathering purse and my d20 necklace... I bring you the Vampire: the Masquerade shelf. Yes, I'm tackling all sorts of geekery.

I made a stencil-like thing of the Toreador rose (traced off the roleplaying book), and then painted it with the only thing I had around: paint that eons ago was used for a parcel of a Warhammer army.

For updating purposes, that little rectangle of wood in the right is now in the middle. I tried to remove it completely, but failed, so I figured the middle would be a good place for it.
Also, I was too lazy to shove it back to its original place.

On the subject of stencils, I wanted a Transformers t-shirt, but couldn't really afford to order one, soooo... bought one of those fabric pens and after a few boring moments with the x-acto knife, this was made!
I was so proud of myself, once it was done.
(And it's piiiiiink! -- Not that you can't see that, but I feel like I have to point it out.)

Here are two bookmarks I made as gifts. One of them, the star one, got stolen on the way to its destination, apparently... because the person who was supposed to receive it only got an envelope that was ripped open, containing only the letter.
*mumbles* Evil mail-stealing goblins.

And here's another bookmark, given to someone who I've nicknamed "koala bear". Or had, at the time. I change petnames a lot.
It's made out of fimo clay, and that... fur coming out of his ears was borrowed from a stuffed toy. *ahem*
Poor Mr. Gervásio Rabbit.

This here was another gift that was very easy to make -- which is a good thing, because otherwise I would've had a hard time giving it away.
Two different kinds of lace and a bell. A jingling, shiny bell. Oooh, how I like those. ^_^
I'll eventually make one for myself, too.

And speaking of shiny, here's one more thing.
On the night of my birthday, I broke a mirror (how's that for luck with a wonderful timing?).
However, since I suffer from a terrible case of magpie-itis, I wasn't able to throw the pieces of shattered glass away... and ended up making a pendant out of them, using some fimo clay.

(Two identical photos, more or less, because I didn't really know which one to pick.)

Hope you liked these! ^_^
