A whole lot of jewelry...
Aug. 10th, 2007 12:59 amI haven't posted in quite awhile! I've been busy harrassing my landlord to fix things in our apartment and get professionals to clean up the neighbour's sewage that's come into our basement! Eww! It's hard to be crafty when that kind of stuff happens.
Anyway, here's some jewelry I've done lately. The summer heat's been holding me back from getting creative ideas out! (it's really hard to glaze things when the heat prevents it from drying :S)
Sneak Peek

BEWARE: LOTS OF PICTURES :)
Some bird pendants (using a handmade bird stamp, translucent polymer clay and paint...fun (: ) "Stacked birds":

Birds with metal washers - a necklace with handwrapped coral jade, and earrings:

Something a little different - a fruity necklace (strawberries and pears are my favourite fruits *drooling*) I made this strawberry myself from polymer clay and then wrapped the beads: (this was one of those times where the camera just wouldn't pick up the actually look of the necklace, you know? Ack!)

Another something different - my version of what the ocean would feel like...I want to see one in person!! This necklace was sooo fun to make. I used clay pressed into a washer and then made little cups for watercolour paint to sit in. Also, I handwrapped one inch worth of little peridot chips to hang on either side of the necklace:

Here's a butterfly shrinky dink - the butterfly is LARGE, I'm used to making smaller ones. Added some faceted fire polished glass 6mm beads in blue turquoise, 2 round 6mm glass beads in midnight blue colour onto the chain..and voila!

Sheep on shrinky dink:

Some fun earrings made from washers, earwires, turquoise flower beads and paddle/spear headpins:

Tree pin! Made from my adored translucent polymer clay, spiffy glass leaf beads and a pinback:

Copper chain fun - felt pendant with vintage (truly vintage!)beads and gold findings:

Flower Pixie necklace from shrinky dink, the lightweight copper chain and 13mm flower bead:

Blue-themed birds in a row:

Stacked birds!

I hope that wasn't too many pictures!
P.S. E6000 won't work for me! Does anyone have any tips? I'm trying to attach little circles of polymer clay to metal hair clips, etc....I've sanded both surfaces first, left the glue to set a little before pressing the two together - two days later, I went to wear a hair clip and the clay piece came off when I went to take the clip out of my hair. Thanks for any replies :)
