finally! some things accomplished.
Aug. 14th, 2007 09:04 amI finally got a few projects finished. About time, right? :-P I was out of work sick a few days last week with the stomach virus, so I had some spare time on my hands. :-D On with the cut!
Here we see a cross-stitch I did for our bathroom. I really like those old timey signs and this pattern didn't seem too hokey. :-P

Next I made another tape wallet. This one was for a friend so it has a theme... SPACE! We both like the sci-fi, so I found this nifty paper in the scrapbook section. Her favorite quote is "luck favors the bold" but I changed it little to fit with the wallet.. get it.. "fortune favors the bold." lol i thought it was clever at the time.

These are another type of christmas ornament I make. These are styrofoam balls and little squares of fabric neatly folded and pinned in place. I love them! However, our christmas tree for our apartment is so wittle, the branches won't support the balls. So, I fill baskets with them and hang them from various places.

About a year and a half ago, my mother-in-law and I went to an estate sale where she bought me a bunch of fabric and a cedar chest (also full of fabric). As I was going through it I found this fabric which had pictures printed on it for pillow making. There's a panda, a couple red and green reindeer, a teddy bear that comes with a little diaper you sew up to put on it, and a couple dolls that come with some dresses for you to cut out and hem so the little kid can play dress up. Well, I finally got around to putting on of them together (hey, i was afraid the fabric would fall apart of I tried to wash it first) and it turned out kinda creepy... I don't know if I want to give it to my niece after all. lol

and the money shot

creepy, eh?
and of course, obsession with marble magnets continues. this isn't even all of them. just ones i could fit into those little tins. the ones on the left (with just eight in the tin) are actually about to be shipped out to a friend.

and finally.. my first attempt at embroidery. now that this is over, lookout sublime stitching! here i come!

and a close up of my stitches. i used a split chain stitch because for me it worked better than an outline stitch.

that is all for now. sorry for the lengthy post, I was sick and these all kind of accumulated at once. :-D
