I made this guitar strap during the month of February as a Valentine's Day gift for my (then) boyfriend. Here's a slide show of it:

Here's how to do this craft:

You will need--
-1 plain nylon guitar strap (or a belt, I guess)
-Pieces of colored felt
-Small sequins (that match the felt colors)
-Seed beads (that match the sequins)
-Good scissors
-A beading needle
-All purpose thread
-A needle threader
-Stiff paper (i used bristol board, but whatever you have is fine)
-A fine point sharpie marker.

1. Draw whatever shapes you want on your strap on the stiff paper while keeping in mind the width of the strap (mine was 2".) (Tip: You can trace letters off your computer screen or print them out.)

2. Cut the shapes out of the paper, trace the shapes onto the felt w/ the sharpie (backwards so you have a clean side) and cut the shapes out of the felt.

3. Sew the shapes to the guitar strap (they they should be straight but they don't have to be adhered super well.)

4. Sequin + bead the shapes with their matching colors:
-Pull the needle and thread through the strap and shape
-Put one sequin and one bead through the needle (the bead will anchor the sequin.
-Pull the needle back through the sequin, felt, and strap.
-Repeat...forever!

*You can fill in the back ground the same way (the felt is really just a color guide.)
*You can also make felt + sequin patches on junk fabric on an embroidery hoop.
*This craft cost $15-$20 and took me about 40 hours to finish.
*My boyfriend broke up with me on Monday--crafts can't buy love.
*Crafting=Love, so it's okay. :)
