craftgrrlI'm wanting to make a scale armour vest, and found a few websites where I can buy the scales, however I'm wondering how many I need to buy. At $35 per thousand pieces I want to buy as few thousand as possible, but I'm not sure how to figure out the amount I would need. Also, what do you all think would be the best way to attach them? A heavy thread hand-stitched to a canvas backing?
EDIT: I just ordered 5k scales and rings. I'm scared.
