ahhh i stopped knitting all summer!
Sep. 20th, 2007 04:16 pmfinally got started again, decided to be *adventurous* and try a pattern for the first time. my mom complains that i am boring in that i only ever make scarves, but i think after this i will venture onto bigger and greater things.
A loooong time ago I had bookmarked this knitty pattern on my computer, figured it was out of my league and never really looked back, until a friend of mine asked if i wanted to go find the yarn store with her (i just moved, and am still getting acquainted with the area.) and i was like YES but i want to do something with a pattern. and so i pulled up that one, realized that it really isnt THAT hard and went to the yarn store. and lo and behold, i was able to do it! my purling was rusty and i had to start over again..
so here are a few pictures. its not quite finished yet, i've been bogged down with midterms, but i haven't gotten completely bored with it yet.
anyway, that is MORE than enough talking, here are some pictures.

after i started it over, SUCCESS! i thought i was never going to get it right, haha.

omgomg it still is working right!

thats about how long it is now. a little longer maybe, but not by much.
I am so proud of myself. My next adventure will be a ribbed hat I think. I also want to learn to make i cords. and by christmas i'd like to make a set of these for my wee cousins. we'll see. i am intimidated.
