Do you work at Michael's?

I know this may not be appropriate, but I have a question for all the people on here who work for Michael's...

I just got a job there and started this week. I like the job, love the discount but I have a "Cash handling" question. My store will not let me count my drawer at any point but holds me responsible if I am even a penny short. I think that this is obnoxious. If I am going to be held responsible than I should at least be afforded the oppurtunity to ensure that everything is correct.

Is that how every store works?

Sorry for text only. I am trying to make an educated decision on whether or not to quit.
