Window Treatment

I've had Contrada scarves from the Palio di Siena since I visited Sienna, Italy 16 years ago...and now I can use them! I found material that matches the color of our sofas and made additional scarves to alternate between the colorful ones from Italy...to bring the room together. The sliding door on the opposite side of the room has the same treatment (but different Contrada scarves since I have 12 of the 17)
Hiding The Cleaning Supplies

Our bedroom and my workshop are in the finished walk-out basement. There is a little ledge beside the stairs and it is the perfect place to store cleaning supplies but I did not want them in view. Two wire shelves from Lowes were the perfect depth for the ledge area. I gathered the tops of fabric panels and attached the loop strip of velcro. The hook strip of velcro is attached to a strip of molding that is attached to the ceiling with drywall screws.
The fabric panels overlap slightly but I did not sew them together so that I can part them to get to the supplies. The broom and a fire extinguisher also hangs behind the curtain
I left the small section at the end open..a display area for our hoards of mardi gras beads
