I am hoping you guys can help:
My really good friend Trevor's brother died in a train accident yesterday. I am coming home to go to the visitation/ funeral for Wednesday. I decided I wanted to make him a gift basket of sorts to let him know I am there for him, but to cheer him up more then anything.
The main part is going to be a little home made book. In it I am going to have a picture of the two of us, picture of him and his brothers, a page dedicated to some of our inside jokes, a page of something like "10 things I love about you", a few collage type deals, lyrics to one of his favourite songs and a mixed cd attached. Do any of you have any more ideas what I could include in the book? I am trying to think of a few more things that involve his brother without crossing the line.
Also do you guys have any general crafty ideas of what I can include in the basket? I am thinking of a few things, and I know you obviously don't know him, but any generic cheery guy crafty gift ideas would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I just to thanks everyone for your great ideas. I am definately going to include cookies, and I like the journal idea. He will like that. I think I will include a first entry of sorts and I also will put in some stationary.
