I made this doll from lovely calico the other day. I wasn't really thinking about what I was going to make, I just started messing around and it all fell into place. I guess most of the art/ stuffed toys I like are very obviously handmade and have a folky feel so that's kind of what I was going for. I showed it to one girl who said 'But you can see where you've sewn up the holes!' and I was like... c'mon, thats the point, thats why I used black thread, get it together lady! But in a politer way. Anyhow here he is.

The photos came out kindof craptastic, they were pretty nice but somehow in the resizing process they went all grainy and horrible. Alas!

I don't actually know how to do those fancypants button joints so the limbs are just kinda held down by buttons, but even so they're pretty mobile and you can wiggle his arms and legs around if you want.

& I dunno if anyone would be interested, but I just started a blog where I post a drawing/sewing/something I made every day, this guy is on it. It's mostly drawing at the moment, but I have lots of crafty stuff that will be gradually being posted. I dunno, I thought some people might like to see. http://www.bleachingstream.blogspot.com

Hooray!
