Mar. 20th, 2003 04:39 pma super stripey hat, stripey legwarmers, THE cyntergomes ear warmer and a coif!
this is what my busy hands have been making in the past couple of weeks, which hopefully inspires other people. i love seeing other peoples stuff, and want to return the favor whenever possible! how cheesy am i?

my cyntergomes earwarmer! this took me forever to do because i was convinced that the second peice wouldn't fit and i also had to co-ordinate beginning the crocheting to a time that would convienience mother, who taught me to do it. my crocheting was really loose and rough, but i'm proud. i dont think the fluffy mohair was a good yarn to do my first crochet project on, but still, i am quite proud of it! the colours sort of remind me of cheap, fake easter bunny ears, but i still love it. and it is reversable! there is a really cute kitten motif in spotlight i've been wanting for a couple of weeks but is always out of stock that i am planning on sewing onto the white side as soon as i can get it!

this hat is called the super stripey hat, because it is super stripey(HA!) and i changed colour after every round! it wasn't made from a pattern, so the top is a bit pointy and pixie-y, which you can't really see from the photo. it is during stuff-ups like this i am glad i am not more conservative in my fashions!

i made these, sort of based on the pattern from the latest issue of knitty, to work on smaller needles with finer yarn. the draw string pockets work wonders, as illustrated last friday night walking around the city quite fast with tall people(my short legs have to do twice as many steps!). the bottoms are ribbed and slightly flared.

and finally, le coif, from knitty. this is absolutely my favorite thing i've made so far, and the pattern was such fun to follow. usually i make up my own stuff, so a pattern with a bit of shaping was quite a novelty. it was lovely to think as i was knitting that if i follow the pattern, it will work out ok. which the shape did, but the size did not, because i started it on my way home from my boys house, which is a two hour journey, and didn't have big enough needles! fortunately, it looks cute as a hairband(you can't really see, but i'm in my gryffindor shirt!).
i wish winter would come already!
