As the fire in Lake Arrowhead and the Cajon Pass raged on, I sat at home worried about my parents and little brother who had spent the night down the hill. The last I'd spoken to them, they had planned on taking the 2 hour trip back home on Monday morning -- the day major freeways were closed off and people were being evacuated.
As I lay safe in my room, I cried and prayed and turned to clay to keep my shaking hands busy. This is the result.
They are now home and safe; I can only hope to God other families are as lucky as I am.
