"...and you will live forever..."
Oct. 27th, 2007 01:31 pmWhat I did differently: I couldn't find an art paper I liked for cutting into stripes as in Zabet's version, so I covered the whole backing in a striped tissue paper that I did like.
Similarly, I couldn't find a garland that did it for me, but Michael's Crafts had some $1 bunches of silk mums in colors that reminded me of the marigolds traditionally used as decorations in Mexico for el dia de los muertos. I just pulled the flower heads off the stems and aranged them on the glass. I wrote the scroll in red ink, rather than black, as red is the color of both love and life. And, finally, I left the frame ($4 at Creative Reuse) with it's original antiqued gold finish, rather than painting and bejeweling it.
Ella (she) is wearing a wrap skirt, a "pearl" necklace, and a "diamond" on her left hand, all from found/leftover/re-purposed sources.
El (he) is wearing a burgundy fleece vest, a gold chain bracelet, and a watch chain, also all from found/leftover/re-purposed sources.
Cross posted to my journal.
