Oct. 29th, 2007 07:52 pmHey all,
Just thought I'd actually share *gasp* some knitting that I've been working on now that it's done. Nothing too fancy, but still, it's nice to finish stuff and feel accomplished.
The first is a scarf for a freinds 1 year old....hence the shortness. It's done in Bernat Baby Boucle with size 11 needles, and using two strands held together for bulk and warmth. (my partner is the hand model in all these...)

The second scarf is for my partner, made with 2 balls of Lion Brand Moonlit Mohair. I took the beginnings of this scarf apart four times. Never, ever, ever take Moonlit Mohiar apart if you can help it ladies.....it knots very easily, and I literally had to cut and join sections of it because of the knottage. The scarf was knitted on my first pair of bamboo needles (size 8), and I have to say, bamboo is what I'm buying from here on in when I can afford it. The lightness of the bamboo meant I could knit longer without fatigue in my wrists, and the wood held the warmth from my fingers, as opposed to my metal needles, which I love, but which are darn cold in the winter!
Anyways, here it is.

and a close up to show the pretty yarn...

I do love the look and feel of the mohair, but I think next time I'll figure out exactly how wide I want it BEFORE I start, as I am NEVER pulling out thirty rows of knitting in this yarn again. Period.
That's all I have for now, but I promise more soon; I'm working on my first illusion scarf, and can't wait to show it off once it's finished!
