Yeah, you remember my post about my little sister's costume? Yeah, I'm a horrible copycat. Or...copyheartless.

Heartless don't walk. They skulk, like this.

They also attack from below. (I love the spookiness of my eyes in this one.)

I actually did this a little different than my sister. I got a glossier paint for the claws, I made the antenna into a headband instead of just a wire, and rather than painting the symbol on, I laid out a thick, fuzzy red yarn, and stitched it on every inch or so. I like the results.

This is hers...I was going to link back to my old post, but couldn't find it.
This is my little sissy.

Also....
I was actually really pleased that I got to do a pumpkin this year. I live in a dorm, with no kitchen, no good knives...but a friend offered up his kitchen in trade for some pumpkin seeds.

My friend and I are in an astronomy for non-science majors, which turned out to be a history of astronomy...the Chaldeans, the pre-Socratic Greeks, Socretes, Plato, Aristotle, Ptolemy, Copernicus, Galileo, Keplar, and far too many other guys. Anyway, we had this project where we had to draw a giant diagram of Copernicus's system using modern numbers for angular speed and average orbit distance. Then, more diagrams of Ptolemy's system, but using the relative distances between the planets from the heliocentric diagram. The planets are drawn one per month, for two years, and the orbits sketched between them. So, my friend and I went a little mad with diagramming, and ran down to the bead shop, and then....

Mary Grace did this one...it's the heliocentric system, of course, with a big gold bead in the center.

She's better at machine sewing (actually, she did the sewing for my antenna, because I didn't have enough time or fabric to play around...I did all the structural crap with the wire and electrical tape), but I've got slightly more experience embroidering, so I was stuck with the crazy diagram on crack. (It's undoubtedly pretty clear that neither of us are that experienced, lol.)

So, that Monday, we turned those in with our paper homework. The TA's expression made it all totally worth it.
