Hi all, I'm new here but I've been reading the community for a while and I'm impressed.  I used to sew a lot when I was younger and recently I picked up doing some basic knits.  (Pictures under the cut!) I've managed to knit myself a scarf out of the Vanna White yarn that Lion brand was sponsoring that turned out super soft and I love it.

I also managed to sew my halloween costume (Lieutenant Uhura from the original Star Trek) and some pillow cases for my love seat because the ones that came with it were just plain hideous.

But here's my question.  I've got a really awesome queen down comforter  (in white) that was given to me  and a really nice full size comforter (in hot pink) that I bought several years ago from target.  The down comforter has been shedding feathers so I've been wanting to make some sort of Duvet cover that would fit both in.  The problem is, I don't want to sew them inside without having a way to remove them other than taking out stitches but I haven't seen any zippers long enough.  Do they make 7feet long zippers?  I've thought about using velcro but I don't have a lot of experience with that.  Plus I worry about feathers still escaping.

So, Craft Grrls, do you have any advice for this sewing novice?  Please help :)  Thanks in advance.
