Nov. 7th, 2007 08:39 pmJust got this email, checked it out and its legit. Do not buy these if you come across them, or if you have them, you need to send them in to the recall. The product is called aqua dots. The beads fuse together when sprayed with water. The coating on the beads that causes the beads to stick to each other when water is added contains a chemical that can turn toxic when many are ingested. Children who swallow the beads can become comatose, develop respiratory depression, or have seizures. This is confirmed through U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Spin Master (who is the maker of the product), and was on CNN as well. I'm sorry if this doesn't go along with the craftgrrl rules, but I don't want anyone getting hurt. I know several people who have bought these for their kids, and they are all taking them back.
