sewing kits in a jar

I made ball jar sewing kits for christmas presents. Instructions are at Martha's website here:

or search for "Mending Kit". There is a similar craft called "Sewing kit in a jar" but the instructions are sketchy and the cardboard makes the top too thick. Re:Mending kit instructions: I used card stock instead of poster board and used a layer of batting and some polyester fiberfill instead of the six circles of fiberfill they want you to cut out. Important: Use a LOT of hot glue to glue the flat top part to the posterboard/card stock, otherwise it comes off. Ask me how I know! I was so frustrated and dh came in and saw the problem and sat down and glued everything over for me. He IS the super crafter :)
