Shrinky dink + Photoshop Elements

Does anyone here know how to adjust the color levels in Photoshop Elements so that the image is suitable for printable shrinkydink sheets? I thought I'd figured it out but the results were less than stellar. I've looked online and can only find tutorials for using photoshop. I'll be immensely glad of any help.
