Linen napkins
Dec. 5th, 2007 04:27 pmAppliqued linen napkins. A Christmas gift for my sister.

They are double-thickness. I sewed "the top" (the green and beige part). I then drew a cherry blossom and trimmed it out of miscellaneous calico prints I have, fused it to the napkin and stitched it with a zig-zag stitch in coordinating thread. Then I sewed the top to a solid color beige square. Finished with a contrasting basting of the brown calico (stitched with the same zig-zag). Super happy with these.

And they match quite well with the napkin rings I beaded to go with.
