quilt story:
i have an autistic three year old cousin.
who has a love for dinosaurs
(he's three, and can tell you the type of dinosaurs. honest!)
our family is trying to reinforce this noticed love
and have been shopping for a dino theme for his christmas gifts.
i decided to go the DIY route,
and create this little number.

i started with 20 of these strips
which became

60 of these squares.
which then led to

only 15 of these.
i had to do the process all again
just to be able to create five more squares.
so that i could start making rows that would turn into:

this :D

closeups to show the blocking detail/print
a basic rail fence quilt
with some dino flare.
and to add to it all.

this is the fleece that will be used for the back.
the same print that is on the front of the quilt
just in giant polar fleece form
(that i also stood in line at joanns for 45 minutes just to buy all of what was on the bolt. :P i'm a dedicated cousin. haa haa. i also wanted whatever was leftover for myself. hee hee)
------
now here's where your help comes in.
should i have it quilted?
or should tie it?
i'm leaning towards quilting it
since i'm not sure where i'd put the ties.
there wont be any batting inbetween
since its flannel and polar fleece.
unless you suggest i should?
i'm open to anything :D
