getting rid of glue marks

hey my wonderful crafty girls/boys!
i need a little help here....!
well, i've been gluing swavoski rhinestone onto model cars with superglue (tried e6000 & it's not as great).
it stays on wonderfully, but the superglue leaves on the surface of the rhinestones :[
does anybody has any insight into how to clean that up?

because of the glue, you cant really see the shininess/sparkli-ness of the rhinestones :[




a project i'm working on, will show more pictures when i'm finished! :D
