Stuff I made with sticks and string.
Dec. 16th, 2007 08:16 pmHey there, I have been a member of this community for a while now, but I don't think I've ever posted. I've finished a few things recently and thought I would share.
First off, just finished this one tonight. Soooper easy baby sweater.

Pattern: Bulky Baby Asymmetrical Cardigan, size 3-6 mos
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in Graphite
Needles: size 9/5.5mm
Next up is another project with Blue Sky Cotton (I think it's my favorite yarn, the colors are yummy.) It's a Dobby hat. The pointy part has broken in a bit since the picture and is not quite so... erect. Also the brown/yellow/babypoo color is almost impossible to photograph accurately, but it's just about the best color in the world.

Pattern: Dobby Hat
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton in Azul and Cumin
Needles: size 9/5.5mm
I added an i-cord to the end. I threw it into the washer and dryer to see what would happen and the i-cord shrunk a bit and no longer looks so lumpy. The rest of the hat stayed the same.

Then there's also this felted Argyle Skull Satchel. I made a major mistake with the applied i-cord edge on the flap there. I put it on the back on the left and right sides. I suck. It would look so much better if I had done it right. I wasn't paying attention and by the time I realized it, I had no idea how to "unknit" it. So I hoped that felting would make it less noticeable. Nope, it just made it permanent. Also, the bag is too wide and the flap is too short, so it hangs weird.

Pattern: Satchel with Arrrgyle Socks Graph both modified to fit my needs.
Yarn: Lion Wool in Ebony, Cadet Blue, Lemongrass, Winter White.
Needles: size 10.5/6.5mm
But I'm happy with how the argyle and skulls felted. Let's take a closer look.

Not complete without this dorky action shot.

And I also made some Vulcan Knucks.

Yesss. Please excuse the crummy embroidery, it was my first time, and I was excited.

Pattern: Knucks
Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed in Avocado
Needles: size 4 dpn, size 3 dpn for cuffs
A bit of yarn porn... I have had this discontinued Patons Bumblebee Baby Cotton for a couple years and have no idea what to do with it. (Besides stack it up and take pictures of the pretty colors.) But there you go. Yummm.

I am tomboyknits on ravelry, which I just joined a week ago and wish I had done sooner. So inspiring! Thanks for looking!
