Newbie Intro post

I am a beginner sewer and found an semi easy patchwork baby blanket pattern and decided to try it out as I have a baby shower to go to this week. It's my first attempt at this, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out why my blocks were not lining up. I did some searching on the intraweb and found out you are not supposed to cut out the squares with scissors (even though the pattern said to cut them out) but you are supposed to use a rotary cutter. Good learning experience I suppose, I know for next time!
