can you wonder under t shirt designs to a new piece of fabric?

2 years ago or os I bought these adorable childrens t shirts in like size 4 t and stuff, and I as going to cut them out and sew them into a quilt, but what about ironing them onto a tote bag or something, Would wonder under stick to the back of the shirt cut out? The decalon the shirt is kind of rubbery if you will for lack of better word. but the back of the shirt should be just fine.  you can't really see the shirts to well it wasn't a good picture but it kind of gives you an idea.
