crafty bitch.
Mar. 27th, 2003 06:53 pmHi, all. I've been mostly a lurker/commenter for a long time, but I'm actually posting some pictures of projects today. I'm sure my decision to not work on my work and/or school projects today will come back to haunt me later. All the same, however, I spent bulk of the day holed up in my studio (really, just half of my large bedroom that I devoted to craftiness), decoupaging and sewing. I have some pictures.
More fun than making anything, really, was making a huge mess in my craft corner. I just kept tearing stuff out, yanking out tubs and boxes and supplies and strewing them about. Since I had to move my second computer off the craft table to use it, there are fun computer parts laying about, too.

I did about half the work I want to on an AOL tin I'm decoupaging/painting. There is still more to be done, but the start isn't bad. I'm not nuts for the way I painted the extra stripes.. I have to fix that. I keep decoupage clippings in it now, but I'm going to make a second to keep stamps in, I think.

Then I started on the project I had sat down to do -- a birthday present for my friend. I appliqued a teachery patch (she's going to graduate with a teaching degree in April) onto a totebag I got from the $1 store because it had a misspelled advertisement for a Asian/Pacific professional women's conference on it. She hasn't gotten tired of apples yet, so that's safe.

And since I'd hacked up a bright red courdouroy remnant for the apple on Lulu's bag, I decided to use the rest to make another bag with a little ladybug patch I'd been hanging on to until I found a good use for it. The pictures came out more pink than real life -- but in reality it's bright, fire engine red.
