Crafts to date
Jan. 5th, 2008 02:03 pmI used to craft a lot as a kid but gave up. Then here recently (past 2 years or so) I've gotten SO into it again. I've been stenciling thanks to my friend who taught me. I've also been attempting to sew and paint and just about everything.
It's not much but I thought I'd show a few pictures of the crafts I have done recently. Some I do when I'm bored and some I do because I need them.
Included pics: painted bookcase, stenciled shirt/handmade bag, notebook cover, etc
I know this isn't
_stencilry but it's still a craft I worked hard on.

FREE HUGS SHIRT. I've worn this shirt out! At least once a week, I have to wear this.
I bought a plain white bookcase from Target for my new dorm room and decided to revamp it myself. I painted the inside tall sides with a grainy look with the colors turquoise and orange. Then the shelves were purple/light blue, blue/pink. I then stenciled FEEL INFINITE on the top courtesy of one of my favorite books, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I accidentally pulled off some orange paint from the top so instead of painting it over, I just distressed the whole top.

The sides were kept white because I'm filling them in with whatever I feel like. Lyrics, quotes, pictures, poems, etc. The night I painted the bookcase I decided to make this little unicorn courtesy of a Blood Brothers song, "You're The Dream, Unciorn." :)

So I'm a bit obsessed with this song from My Chemical Romance...
I made my first purse and stenciled it on the front. The purse is very amateur and simple, just a tote kinda bag and barely held together.

Lined with purple gingham.

Did I mention it was hand sewn because at the time my machine wasn't working?

Lastly, the notebook I decorated a few weeks ago. Everyone thinks it's cute and I agree. I was sick one night and tired of my little dollar store steno pad having a lame cover so I cut out some shapes from cardstock and whipped this up.

Now, I didn't make this one (though I could, because I'm good at stenciling) but I picked this up at a thrift store for 2 dollars and fell in love! I love Lennon and so I thought "Why not?!" Just had to show it because it was someone else's craft at some point! I don't take credit for this, so no harm done.

Here in the future I plan on making an iPod cover, line a thrift store bag I got and a few other things so maybe you'll see those too!
I'm learning! So sorry for the crappy crafts and even crappier cell phone pics. I'm a poor craft grrl.
