Tie Cozies and Buttons and pillows OH MY

Well, here are a couple of things I've been working on ...
Fabric button tacks! These were really easy and fun. Unfortunately, a couple tacks fell out after I used them because my glue gun glue was really old and probably didn't heat properly. Oh well, easy fix!

Okay, before I apologize for my wonky stitch lines (and .. color) I have to admit (and bear in mind I only started sewing a month ago, with no training!) that I did not know you could "lock" the fabric in place, and that the machine would kind of do the work for you. Ugh! Plus, Im not confident enough to change out the black thread yet. I can do the top, but the bobbin scares me!
Anyway, here's the coffee cozy I made from a spare tie and some felt! I used velcro because I don't know how to do buttons yet, but added the button for decorations :3

Lastly, here is a pillow I made. I bought the fabric because I liked the bright red color, but when I turned it over, I realized that I really loved the distressed look it had. I cut out a girl from some other fabric and hand-sewed it on

Now, here's where I need some help:
I put the pillow together wrong .. not horribly wrong, but basically what happened is even though I was careful not to stitch through the back, I accidentally stitched through part of pillow that the pillow form should have gone under. Thinking myself genius, I cut a (wow, REALLY crooked) line as close as I could to the stitch, thinking it wouldn't be noticeable, and I'd still be able to get the pillow form in. WRONG! I didn't take the bulge into consideration and well .. here's what's going on in the back:
I know, it's horrible ... :(

So, my questions is ... should I get some nice red felt and try and seal it that way? Or cut the front panel off, and make a new back panel, and do it that way? Thanks guys!!
