Valentine for a Geek
Feb. 14th, 2008 11:10 amI'm not even gonna lie and claim to have made up this poem (got it from a ThinkGeek.com tshirt), but will go ahead and say I think this is awesome.
(Awesome if only for the huge amount of geekery.)

I think the concept was great- I love hand-stitched cards. But I did this between 12 and 3 AM last night and only at the end did I figure out a good system for making the letters look computery. (I also wish I'd taken more time to make it look nice and straight, but yeah...) The front is done with a chain stitch which was more trouble than it was worth. (It looks like crap.) The HTML codes and the inside of the card were done with a much easier grid design of four or six points. I did my name with serifs. Here's what I did:

I punched holes for the letters. This is going to spell "you."

Then I connected the dots. Sooooo much easier than the chain stitch!!
Hope everyone's having a good/crafty Valentine's Day!
