Anniversary Book
Feb. 15th, 2008 06:21 pmMy parents' 40th wedding anniversary is coming up, and my siblings and I sent out a letter at the end of last year to family and friends requesting that they write "Happy Anniversary" letters to my parents. My brother wanted to compile them all into a bound book (like college students do with their research projects). Although I had hoped we'd go for more of a "scrapbook" feel, I went along with his idea because I was just excited he wanted to help at all! Anyway, although most people did write their letters on "normal"-sized plain paper, some sent greeting cards instead. I started scanning the cards tonight, but really don't like how they look. A few people also sent pictures, and I was thinking we could leave some blank pages in the bound book where we could put the actual pictures (rather than scan them in). Is there a similar manner in which we can put the actual cards in the book rather than scan them in?

We had a box of greeting cards from our wedding just sitting in our closet, and I really wanted to do something special with them rather than leaving them to be forgotten. So, on our two-year anniversary, I took a scissors to them and cut off the front of each card. I affixed a notecard to the back of each, and am now using them as recipe cards. Today I bought a photo album to hold them (and put the so far unused cards in card-side up). I even kept a few insides of the cards that were really meaningful (for example, I put the inside of the card from my grandma (with her message and signature) on the back of one of her favorite recipes).
